Is the entire car reservation process online?

Yes! You should not have to waste time at a counter signing documents. At Choco's Bronco Rental you can reserve, sign, and pay all online — securely.

What are your business hours?

Monday–Sunday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Need a little more time? We offer a Late Return Option for $30, allowing you to return your vehicle as late as 9:00 PM through our convenient self check-in process. This option must be requested and approved in advance and is subject to availability.

Question 4

Do you have a minimum rental period?

Accepted Answer

There is no minimum rental period. Our shortest rental is a 24-hour reservation, even for same-day bookings. Same-day rentals are available, subject to vehicle availability. If you don't see the option online, simply give us a call and we'll be happy to help. Planning a longer stay? Ask us about our discounted weekly and monthly rates.

Is there a minimum age to rent?

We welcome drivers ages 21 and older. A young driver fee applies to renters between the ages of 21 and 24, while drivers 25 and older rent without the additional fee. Every driver must present a valid, unexpired driver's license at the time of pickup.

Question 6

Do you require a security deposit?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A $200 security deposit hold is required at the time of pickup. Once the vehicle is returned in accordance with the rental agreement, the hold is released. Depending on your bank or credit card issuer, the funds are typically available again within 3-5 business days.

Question 7

Can I use my own insurance?

Accepted Answer

Yes! You're welcome to use your own auto insurance if it covers rental vehicles in Puerto Rico and includes at least $35,000 in physical damage coverage. Simply email proof of coverage to reservations@chocosbroncorental.com before your scheduled pick up. If proof of coverage is not received before pickup, our Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) will automatically be added to your reservation at $15 per day for the full rental period. Because the CDW is added due to the absence of required proof of insurance, it is non-refundable.

Can I extend my reservation?

Yes! If you'd like to extend your reservation, please email us at reservations@chocosbroncorental.com or call us at 787-478-1228 at least two business hours before your scheduled return time. Extension requests are subject to vehicle availability. Once we've confirmed availability, we'll contact you by email or phone with the extension price. By requesting and accepting the extension, you authorize Choco's Bronco Rental to charge the payment method on file for the approved extension amount.

Question 9

Can I rent car seats or child boosters?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Car seats and boosters are $4 per day, capped at $30 for the full rental period, plus sales tax.

Question 10

Can I add an additional driver?

Accepted Answer

Yes! You may add an additional driver for $10 per day plus tax. Every additional driver must meet our rental requirements and present a valid, unexpired driver's license at the time of pickup.

Is there a penalty for returning the vehicle late?

Accepted Answer

We understand that travel plans can change. A 30-minute grace period is provided after your scheduled return time. After the grace period, a late return charge of $15 per hour (or any portion of an hour) will apply, for up to 3 hours. Vehicles returned more than 3 hours after the scheduled return time will be charged an additional rental day. If you need more time, please contact us before your scheduled return — we'll do our best to accommodate your request through our Late Return Option, subject to availability.

Question 12

Do I need to refuel the vehicle before returning it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level it had at the time of pickup. If additional fuel is needed, a refueling charge of $15 per 1/8 tank will apply. Please note that we are not responsible if a nearby gas station is closed, out of fuel, or unavailable — so we recommend refueling before arriving at our return location.

What is the cancellation policy?

Plans can change, and we'll do our best to be fair.

• 7 or more business days before pickup: Eligible for a full refund.

• Between 2 and 6 business days before pickup: Eligible for a refund minus the greater of 30% of the reservation total or $100.

• Less than 2 business days before pickup: No refund. However, you'll receive a 6-month rain check for the amount paid, which may be applied toward a future reservation.

• No-shows: No refunds or rain checks will be issued, as the reserved vehicle has been held exclusively for your reservation and cannot be rebooked on little to no notice.

• Weather Exception: If your scheduled ferry to Culebra or flight between mainland Puerto Rico and Culebra is officially cancelled due to weather, you may qualify for a full refund. To request a refund, please email proof of the cancellation to reservations@chocosbroncorental.com. This exception applies only to transportation to or from Culebra and does not apply to flights arriving in Puerto Rico from other destinations.

Question 14

What is the Damage Waiver & Supplemental Liability Insurance?

Our Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) helps protect you from the cost of damage to the rental vehicle. In the event of a covered accident, your responsibility is limited to a $500 deductible, subject to the terms and exclusions of the Rental Agreement.

Our Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) provides coverage for bodily injury or property damage you may cause to third parties while operating the rental vehicle, subject to the policy's terms, conditions, and exclusions.
